ATTICA — Electa Laura Hammer, 77, 3098 N 550 E, Attica, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1923 in Brown County, the daughter of Oliver Elmer and Emma Christina Fuelster Hammer. She was raised in Brown County and graduated from Helmsburg High School. She later graduated from Purdue University She formerly lived in Indianapolis for several years where she worked in marketing for Diamond Chains for over 35 years, retiring in 1990 and moved to Attica in 1996. She liked to garden and enjoyed flowers. Survivors include: a niece, Judy (Mike) Davis, Attica; two nephews, Michael (Betty) Hammer, Greenwood and Tony (Jan) Hammer, San Diego, Calif.; nine great-nieces and nephews; a great-great-nephews; and a great-great niece. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Herbert Hammer and a sister, Katherine Hammer. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Cliston Coverdale officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. – jlr
